False Alarm
Matthew 16:5–12
In this message, we explored how easy it is to panic about the wrong things while missing what truly matters.
The disciples were worried because they forgot bread. But Jesus wasn’t concerned about lunch — He was warning them about the “yeast” of the Pharisees and Sadducees, a subtle influence that could slowly corrupt their faith. They were focused on provision. Jesus was focused on belief.
Even after witnessing miracles, their anxiety grew louder than their memory. Jesus reminded them that temporary needs should not dominate their hearts.
The real danger wasn’t missing bread — it was spiritual drift.
False alarms distract us from real emergencies. The question is: What has your attention right now — and is it truly the real danger?
