When deer season opens in East Texas, you can bet two things are happening—hunters are in the woods, and the sanctuary at Church in the Country is packed for Camo Sunday.
What started back in 2013 as a creative way to connect with hunters and outdoorsmen has grown into one of the most exciting and well-attended Sundays of the year. It’s the one day where camo replaces Sunday best, rifles are traded for Bibles, and the smell of smoked brisket fills the church air.
This year’s Camo Sunday takes place on Sunday, November 2, and we’re once again pushing our service to 11:45 AM—giving hunters plenty of time to be in the woods that morning before heading straight to worship. Whether you’re walking in from the deer stand or driving in from town, this is your kind of Sunday.
Worship + BBQ = Country Church at Its Best
This isn’t your average Sunday service. From the moment you walk in, you’ll know you’re part of something special. Worship kicks off with a full plate—literally—because we’ll be serving free BBQ lunch right in the sanctuary during worship. It’s a relaxed, down-home atmosphere where faith and fellowship come together in the most Texas way possible.
You’ll hear powerful music, a message that connects with real life, and plenty of laughter as we celebrate what God is doing in our community. No dressing up. No pressure. Just come as you are—in camo, boots, and all.
