Friendsgiving Sunday at Church in the Country

Sunday, November 23 · A Big Thanksgiving Sunday for the Whole Family

This Sunday is one of the biggest days of the year at Church in the Country — Friendsgiving Sunday. We’ve got a full morning lined up: high-energy Gobbler Games for the kids, a powerful worship service for the adults, and a huge Friendsgiving Feast right after service. It’s all about food, faith, and family.

The Gobbler Games (PreK–5th Grade)

Location: CYC · Drop-off: 10:30–10:55 AM · Games: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM · Kids’ Lunch & Awards: After noon in the CYC

This Thanksgiving Sunday, Kountry Kids is going big with The Gobbler Games — a Thanksgiving showdown just for kids in PreK–5th grade. Parents can drop kids off in the CYC between 10:30 and 10:55 AM. Once church starts at 11:00, the CYC turns into a full Gobbler Games arena.

Kids will compete by age group in four fast-paced games. Each game is simple, fun, and full of movement — mixing athletic skill, quick thinking, and teamwork. Every game has a clear winner, and kids earn points in each event as they go.

At the end, we’ll total the scores and recognize our Top Gobblers with:

  • Thanksgiving-themed championship rings
  • Turkey medals for top finishers
  • Bragging rights that last till Christmas

After the games wrap up at noon, kids will eat their Thanksgiving lunch in the CYC. Once they finish eating, we’ll have a short awards ceremony to celebrate the winners and remind everyone that gratitude always wins.

Ages: PreK–5th Grade
Drop-off: 10:30–10:55 AM at the CYC
Games: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM during the adult service
Kids’ Lunch & Awards: Thanksgiving meal and ceremony in the CYC after noon

Friendsgiving Sunday Service (Adults & Older Students)

Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM · Location: Sanctuary

While the kids are in the Gobbler Games, the adults and older students will be in the sanctuary for a powerful Friendsgiving Sunday service. This will be the final message of our “I Am Not Okay” series and a special time of worship, teaching, and honesty before God.

We’ll also share in the Lord’s Supper together as a church family — remembering what Jesus has done for us and thanking Him for His grace in every season, even when we’re not okay.

Live music will begin in the sanctuary at 10:45 AM, so you can come early, find a seat, and prepare your heart for worship.

Friendsgiving Feast (Adults & Teens in Main Building)

Time: Right after service (around 12:00 PM) · Location: Sanctuary & foyer · 555 FM 256 N, Woodville, TX

When the service ends, the adults and older students will stay in the main building for our annual Friendsgiving Feast — a big, country, Thanksgiving-style potluck.

The church is providing turkey and ham. We’re inviting everyone to bring a favorite dish to share: dressing, casseroles, veggies, mac & cheese, rolls, pies, cobblers — anything that says “Thanksgiving” at your house.

If you’ve already signed up to bring a dish, please be sure to bring it. If you haven’t signed up, that’s okay — just bring whatever you’d like, or simply come and eat. If you can’t bring anything this time, there will still be a place at the table for you.

Our band will be playing live music while we eat, creating a relaxed, family feel as everyone visits and enjoys the meal together. After service, we’ll dismiss adults table-by-table to go through the food line so things stay smooth and organized. Meanwhile, the kids will remain in the CYC for their own Thanksgiving lunch and Gobbler Games awards.

Church provides: Turkey & ham
You bring: Sides & desserts (if able)
Live music: Band playing during the meal
Kids: Eat Thanksgiving lunch & awards in the CYC

Big Sunday. Big table. Big God.
Bring your family, bring a dish, bring your appetite — let’s make Friendsgiving Weekend at Church in the Country one to remember.
