Kids Soccer May Be Coming to Woodville!

Think of Upward Sports like Little League or Little Dribblers, but built on a Christian foundation.

Children learn soccer skills while also learning about teamwork, encouragement, respect, integrity, and God’s love.

During the season, teams will take part in short, age-appropriate devotionals and simple Bible lessons during practices and league activities. Faith will be part of the experience without taking away from the fun and excitement of soccer.

These plans are preliminary and may change based on community interest, registration numbers, volunteers, scheduling, and field needs.

Final divisions will depend on the number of children interested in each age group.

Soccer fields would be built on the Church in the Country campus for league games and practices.

Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming place where children from Woodville and surrounding communities can learn, play, build friendships, and grow in their faith.

We are currently targeting a registration cost of approximately $100 per child.

That fee would help cover the player uniform, Upward league fees, soccer equipment, awards, field supplies, insurance, and other costs needed to operate the season.

We plan to offer sponsorship opportunities to local businesses, churches, organizations, and individuals.

Sponsorships would help provide team jerseys, goals, soccer balls, field equipment, scholarships, and other league needs. This support will help keep registration affordable and make the league available to more local children.

A successful league will require parents, grandparents, church members, and community volunteers willing to invest a little time and help create a great experience for these children.

You do not have to be a soccer expert. Upward provides training, practice plans, devotionals, and resources to help volunteers succeed.

Before we build fields, purchase goals and equipment, organize teams, and begin registration, we need to know whether families in our area would participate.
