Not every fight is a battle God has called us to enter. As America wrestled with whether to enter World War I, King Josiah faced a similar decision. After decades of faithfully leading Judah back to God, Josiah stepped into a conflict that wasn't his to fight, ignoring God's warning and losing his life. His story reminds us that faithfulness isn't measured by fighting every battle, but by discerning the battles God has actually entrusted to us. Instead of becoming consumed with other people's lives, arguments, or distractions, believers are called to fight for what truly matters—our faith, our families, our character, and the Gospel. Jesus perfectly modeled this by fighting the one battle the Father gave Him: defeating sin and death through the cross and resurrection. The greatest victories come not from winning every argument, but from being faithful in the battles God has assigned us.
